Two people were returning to their Glenview home on the 1700 block of Bluestem Lane on Monday just after 11 p.m. when three male offenders approached them displaying handguns and demanding their property, according to a Glenview Police news release.
The two victims gave up their property and the offenders fled in the same Jaguar SUV in which they had arrived, which police later said they determined had been stolen elsewhere. It bore Georgia license plates.
Neither victim was physically injured during the encounter.
The vehicle was later located, unoccupied, in the 4300 block of Federal Street in Chicago by Illinois State Police, Glenview police said, and recovered. The offenders were described by the victims as males, wearing black face coverings and dark clothing.
The total loss was $60,000, according to a Glenview police report.
Glenview police said they are investigating and asked anyone with information about it to call their tip line at 847-901-6055.
