Armed robbers beat, injure man at Park Ridge parking garage, police say

Two assailants beat and pepper-sprayed a man in an underground parking garage in Uptown and took his wallet, Park Ridge police announced.

The attack occurred at a parking garage at 15 N. Summit Ave. on Tuesday at 1:07 a.m., according to a news release from police. The two male offenders were described as wearing ski masks, and one held a knife and another held pepper spray.  

Police said the victim was walking towards the elevator when he was approached by the offenders. One of the offenders used pepper spray on the victim and both offenders struck the victim’s head multiple times until he fell to the ground.

The victim told police that he was able to get up and run from the area when he observed a light grey-colored sedan chasing him. The sedan fled the scene.

Park Ridge paramedics took the victim to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
