Armed robbers hit at least 3 businesses overnight, police say

At least three businesses fell victim to armed robbers overnight on the North and South sides, Chicago police said.

The first robbery happened about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a business in the 3200 block of West Diversey Avenue.

Police said three armed robbers entered with handguns and demanded cash from the register. An employee complied, and the robbers fled the scene, police said.

Shortly after 10 p.m., three armed robbers hit a business in the 3300 block of West Belmont Avenue, police said.

Shortly before midnight, two armed robbers struck a restaurant in Chinatown in the 2100 block of South China Place, police said.

The robbers entered the business with handguns and demanded cash from the cashier and property from the patrons, police said. They all complied and the robbers fled on foot, police said.

No one was injured during any of the robberies, and detectives were investigating.
