Arrests made in fatal Waukegan Metra parking lot shooting

Two men have been charged in a shooting in which a man was killed last week at the Waukegan Metra parking lot, Waukegan police said Monday.

Alan Green, 34, of North Chicago, and Keyonda Triplett, 30, of Waukegan, are facing weapons charges in the shooting death of Xzavier Booker of Zion, police said.

Green, who was also charged with drug offenses, and Triplett could face additional charges as the investigation continues, according to authorities.

Waukegan police responded to the Metra lot on North Spring Street at around 3:30 a.m. on July 7 for reports of a shooting. Arriving officers found Booker, 36, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Another person, a 22-year-old Zion man, was treated and released from a hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm, police said.

Police said they were able to quickly develop leads and a vehicle description. Green and Triplett were both armed with pistols when they were arrested, police said. Green also had numerous drugs in his possession, authorities said.
