As city mulls re-upping with ComEd, Lightfoot administration seeks information from possible electrical providers

Mayor Lori Lightfoot has put out a new request for information from potential electrical providers as she evaluates whether to sign a new deal with ComEd, the city said. The city is seeking responses, for the first time since 1992, from potential electrical franchises by May 28. The move, however, appears aimed more at providing due diligence and negotiating leverage for Chicago than replacing ComEd.
