Aurora area residents will head to the polls Tuesday to vote in a variety of races including those for president and Congress, a number of state and county contests, various referendum questions and more.
Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Anyone who is in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Residents can register to vote at their polling place on Election Day. Two forms of identification are required to register. One must show a current address.
Kane County voters who observe or experience voting problems or irregularities on Election Day should call the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office or the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, officials said.
The complaint line will be staffed by representatives of the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to a press release. Assistant state’s attorneys will take the complaints about potential violations of Illinois election laws and are prepared to ensure compliance with those laws, officials said.
Anyone who experiences or witnesses any possible illegal election activity, such as electioneering, illegally placed campaign signs or denial of voting rights at any of Kane County’s voting precincts should call 630-208-5328, according to the release. Voters can also contact the Kane County Sheriff’s Office by calling 630-232-6840.
The Kane County election complaint line will be available from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
The complaint line is not for election questions, such as polling times and places, according to the release. Voters in need of election information should call the Kane County Clerk’s Election Helpline at 630-232-5990, officials said.
In Kendall County, voters with election questions, such as voting times, voter registration issues or polling place locations should consult the Kendall County clerk and recorder’s website at www.kendallcountyil.gov. or call the main office number at 630-553-4105, officials said.
Complaints about potential violations of Illinois election laws in Kendall County, including denial of voting rights, should be made to the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office at 630-553-4157 or to the Illinois Attorney General at 312-814-3000, officials said.
The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office’s election number will be staffed from 6 a.m. to 7 on Tuesday only.
Additionally, the Kendall County Courthouse in Yorkville will be open on Election Day for election issues only from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., officials said.
In DuPage County, anyone who has questions or is concerned about activities at any DuPage County polling place can contact either the DuPage County clerk at 630-407-5600 or the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office Election Hotline at 630-407-8118, officials said.
DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin said that his office will again deploy teams of assistant state’s attorneys and investigators to respond to reports of any suspected irregularities that may arise at DuPage County polling locations on Election Day.
