Aurora church to hold early Thanksgiving dinner to help those in need

Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora will host an early Thanksgiving dinner for people in need this weekend.

The Rev. Tammy Scott, Wesley lead pastor, said the “Feast of Hope” event will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora.

The sponsor is LV Cares, an Aurora-based non-profit organization.

Congregants and friends are requested to donate turkey, ham, mixed vegetables, biscuits, fruit, desserts, plates, utensils and winter clothes for the event.

According to Scott, Wesley is working with LV Cares to provide a place for members of the community to receive a hot meal and warm clothes for winter.

LV Cares is a community-focused organization dedicated to providing support and assistance to those in need. Through various programs and initiatives, it aims to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in the local area, officials said.
