The city of Aurora is seeking nominations for grand marshal of the Memorial Day Parade to be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, in downtown Aurora.
The nominee must be an Auroran who is a veteran, an active member of the military or a supporter of veterans’ causes; has made significant contributions to the quality of life in the city, whether it be in the areas of civic or social services, humanitarianism or through personal achievements such as in athletics or the arts; and is a current or longtime past resident of Aurora or has brought some distinction to Aurora, city officials said.
The person nominated must also be willing and available to serve as grand marshal to lead the parade May 27, according to city officials.
Nominations for grand marshal of the parade will be accepted through Monday, May 6, at www.aurora-il.org/GrandMarshal
