A 2-month-old boy died of child abuse-related injuries Monday in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Kayson Flowers was found unresponsive in a home located at 243 E. 106th St. around 10 a.m., authorities said. Police said the infant’s family members brought him to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy on Tuesday ruled his death a homicide due to multiple injuries from child abuse. Police said there was no one in custody related to Kayson’s death and that Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services couldn’t confirm whether the baby’s family had previously been in contact with the agency.
