As Barrington’s White House, the town’s iconic venue, is beginning its 10th season of hosting cultural events for the community, Potter has retired as head of it.

“He has created multiple seasonal cultural calendars bringing world class artists to perform in Barrington and whereas Rollin has been instrumental in spearheading the Barrington Cultural Commission and bringing a highly diverse slate of cultural events to Barrington,” Trustee Todd Sholeen said at the July 29 meeting.

“The village of Barrington does hereby extend its deep appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Rollin Potter for his service to the village of Barrington and the greater Barrington area, and for his dedication to developing Barrington as a thriving cultural hub, leaving a legacy of cultural enrichment and a greater sense of place within our community,” Sholeen read from the proclamation the board presented to Potter.
