Lewis’ Delaney Garden was named softball pitcher of the week in GLVC for third time this season. … Keisha Newell resigned as Lews women’s basketball coach to accept same position at Oakland University … St. Xavier’s football team will begin 2025 season at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Indiana Wesleyan. Cougars’ first home game is at noon on Sept. 13 against Wisconsin-Whitewater. The MSFA Midwest opener, against St. Francis, is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Joliet Memorial Stadium.
