A Beach Park man was killed Tuesday night when he failed to stop at an intersection and his car was hit by another vehicle, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The Coroner’s Office identified him as Kenneth Fike, 65.
The accident happened at 10:03 p.m. at the intersection of 9th Avenue and Green Bay Road in Zion.
According to authorities, Fike failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection, where his 2023 Chevrolet Corvette collided with a 2024 Cadillac 350T.
He was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Cadillac suffered serious injuries and was brought to a hospital.
The accident remains under investigation by the Major Crash Assistance Team.
