Bobby Narang’s softball rankings and player of the week for Lake County

Antioch and Grayslake Central rise in the rankings, and Highland Park/Deerfield makes its debut behind player of the week Lily Freedman.

Stony Brook recruit Aubrey Jepson is closing out the regular season strong for the North Suburban Conference champion, batting .750 with five RBIs last week.

Taylor Pyke hasn’t missed a beat after her impressive freshman season, batting .464 with 10 home runs, 42 RBIs, 40 runs scored and 13 stolen bases.

Annalise Stich is making a difference for the Blue Devils at the plate with her power and ability to get on base.

Sofia Lombardo hits .429 with five RBIs and plays outstanding defense in the outfield for the Wildcats over the past week.

7. Grayslake North 14-10 (7)

Freshman Kendall Joy goes 3-for-3 in back-to-back games and is showing off her defensive versatility by playing two positions for the Knights.

8. Highland Park/Deerfield 12-7 (NR)

Marin Killeen hits .429 with her second home run of the season in the past week.

9. Grayslake Central 12-13 (10)

Emma Andrews racks up 10 hits, including two home runs, and eight RBIs over three games while playing error-free defense for the Rams.

10. Lake Zurich 14-16-1 (9)

Alaina Krzeminski records a 1.48 ERA with 12 strikeouts in three games, including the Bears’ NSC wins against Mundelein and Warren.

Highland Park/Deerfield freshman pitcher Lily Freedman, who has more than 200 strikeouts this season, strikes out 33 in three games.
