A 13-year-old boy was in critical condition after he was shot Monday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood on the city’s South Side, according to Chicago Police.
Police said the boy was in an alley around 2:20 p.m. on the 7400 block of South Kenwood Avenue when two unknown men approached, shot him three times and ran away.
The boy was taken in critical condition at Comer Children’s Hospital, police said.
Police said there were no suspects in custody and that area detectives were investigating the shooting.
