A 13-year-old boy was fatally shot Monday evening inside an Englewood home, according to Chicago police.
Police did not immediately explain the circumstances surrounding how the boy was shot in the chest, only saying that the gun went off inside a home on the 500 block of West 65th Place just before 7 p.m.
The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. Officers were questioning a person of interest about the shooting, and Wentworth area detectives were investigating.
