A 14-year-old boy was wounded Tuesday morning in a shooting on the Southwest Side in the Gage Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the boy was standing outside in the 5400 block of South Sacramento Avenue when he was approached by someone who opened fire in his direction.
The boy was struck multiple times to the body, and was taken in critical condition to Comer Children’s Hospital, police said.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
