Burbank man fatally wounded Wednesday night in drive-by shooting in Humboldt Park neighborhood

A Burbank man was fatally wounded Wednesday night in a drive-by shooting in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 9:20 p.m., the victim, 26, and another person were standing on a sidewalk in the 3400 block of West LeMoyne Street when someone in a dark-colored SUV opened fire. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

He was identified as Abdelhadi Jafry of the 8300 block of Laporte Avenue in Burbank, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
