Semi-truck rollover crash on Eisenhower Expressway causes eastbound lane closure
A rollover crash of a semi-truck took place on the Eisenhower Expressway at approximately 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, leading to a closure of the nearby eastbound lanes, Illinois State Police said. The truck was carrying a load of approximately 27,000 pounds of canned goods, which remained intact after the crash on I-290, according to police. As of 8 a.m. on Wednesday, eastbound lanes near the crash site — which occurred just east of the interchange with I-294 — still remained entirely blocked, state police said. Traffic is being diverted to southbound I-294. Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
