Driver in good condition after vehicle flips on its roof during accident overnight

A 26-year-old driver was in good condition after his car flipped over during a vehicle accident overnight in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood, Chicago police said. Shortly before 3:30 a.m . Friday, the victim was headed south in the 2500 bock of South Ashland Avenue in a Honda SUV when he struck a 2005 Ford sedan that flipped over on its roof. The driver of the sedan was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition. The driver of the SUV  refused medical help at the scene.    

2 in custody after carjacking ride-share driver, leading police on chase on South Side

A ride-share driver was carjacked Thursday night by his passengers who led police on a pursuit before they were caught and arrested, Chicago police said. Shortly after 10:30 p.m., a 44-year-old ride-share driver was dropping off two passengers in 7400 block of South Wabash Avenue when they pulled out handguns and forced him out of his 2017 Dodge Journey, police said. The carjackers drove off but were caught in the 9200 block of South Greenwood Avenue after a pursuit by involving Chicago police and Illinois State troopers. Detectives were investigating.

16-year-old girl charged in armed robbery on CTA property in East Pilsen

A 16-year-old girl was charged with armed robbery of a 26-year-old man on CTA property in the East Pilsen neighborhood, Chicago police said. Shortly before 9 p.m. on Oct. 13, the girl robbed a man by knife point in the 2000 block of South Archer Avenue and made off with the man’s belongings, police said. Police said the robbery happened on CTA property. The girl was arrested Wednesday in the 5100 block of South Wentworth Avenue after she was identified from a community alert as one of the robbers.
