A man’s death was ruled a homicide Saturday a week after he was found in a Grand Crossing alley with severe burns all over his body, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Officers found the man, who hasn’t yet been identified and age is unknown, in an alley in the 6700 block of South Prairie Avenue around 5 p.m. on Oct. 12, police said. A man was fatally shot Friday afternoon outside an Uptown restaurant, police said. Police said the man, who was 45, was sitting in a vehicle in a restaurant parking lot on the 1000 block of West Wilson Avenue around 3:45 p.m. when a pair of men came up to him.
