Voters say ‘yes’ to $26M referendum for Golf District 67 to improve school buildings, security: ‘We can move forward’

More than half of the voters who live within Golf School District 67 voted Tuesday to approve a $26 million referendum that called for the district to pay for capital and safety improvements in the two-school district. According to unofficial election results from the Cook County clerk’s office, 53% of voters chose to approve the referendum. About 47% voted against the measure. Lake, Porter counties prepare for caucuses after general election results

As the Nov. 5 general election wraps up, officials in Northwest Indiana prepare for the next political process: a caucus. Lake and Porter counties will both hold at least one caucus following the general election’s results. Suburban voters approve more than $1 billion in school borrowing, but draw the line on some measures

Suburban voters outside Chicago generally bucked a national conservative trend in Tuesday’s election by supporting more than a dozen measures to borrow more than $1.1 billion to fund schools, and more for fire stations, park facilities and open land.
