30-year-old woman discovered critically wounded on sidewalk Monday night in Grand Crossing

A 30-year-old woman was found lying on the sidewalk shot Monday night in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said. Shortly after 9:15 p.m., a woman was discovered outside in the 7700 block of South Dobson Avenue with a gunshot wound to the left leg. She was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was listed in critical condition, police said. No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.

Man seriously wounded in Streeterville shooting, police say

An unknown shooter seriously wounded a man early Monday afternoon about two blocks east of the Magnificent Mile, according to police. A 26-year old man was on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East North Water Street around 1 p.m. when he was shot in the head, police said. Police said they didn’t know who had opened fire. The man was taken in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. No one was in custody and area detectives were investigating the shooting.
