Man seriously wounded in Streeterville shooting, police say
An unknown shooter seriously wounded a man early Monday afternoon about two blocks east of the Magnificent Mile, according to police. A 26-year old man was on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East North Water Street around 1 p.m. when he was shot in the head, police said. Police said they didn’t know who had opened fire. The man was taken in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. No one was in custody and area detectives were investigating the shooting.
Teen injured in bike crash along Touhy Avenue in Skokie, police say
Skokie and Lincolnwood emergency teams responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a cyclist on Saturday night, according to Skokie police. Police say a 17-year-old was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Touhy Avenue over the Edens Expressway on Saturday around 11 p.m. The bicyclist’s condition was transported to a nearby hospital, and their condition was listed as stable, according to police. The driver and the vehicle remained at the scene of the crash, police said.
