CCL holder wounds teen in group who used chemical agent during carjacking Thursday morning

A 47-year-old man who is a licensed conceal carry hold wounded a teenage boy who sprayed him with a chemical during a carjacking Thursday morning in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said.

About 5:20 a.m., the victim was inside his vehicle in the 1600 block of West 82nd Street when a group approach and demanded his vehicle before spraying him with a chemical agent, police said. The victim who has a CCL license opened fire striking a 16-year-old boy to the left knee and grazed the boy’s left arm.

The teenage boy was taking to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in fair condition, police said. The other carjackers made off with the victim’s Toyota Camry and fled east from the scene.

Detectives are investigating.
