Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson in early July paid $1.393 million for a five-bedroom, 6,372-square-foot mansion in Long Grove.
A standout at the University of Utah, Johnson, 25, was drafted by the Bears in 2020 and in March signed a four-year, $76 million contract extension.
In Long Grove, Johnson’s new house was built in 1988 and sits on a 2.5-acre property. The house has 3-1/2 bathrooms, an office, a sauna, a wine cellar and a kitchen with Thermador appliances, a large island and a double-sided fireplace that adjoins the kitchen and living room. Other features include an open floor plan and a primary bedroom suite with walk-in closets with custom-built organizers.
The home also has a heated and attached, three-car garage as well as a large deck that offers views of a forest preserve.
The house had been listed in May for $1.289 million.
Marty Rinehart of Real Broker LLC, who represented Johnson in the purchase, declined to comment on the deal.
The home had a $20,509 property tax bill in the 2022 tax year.
