The Chicago River will glow Kelly green downtown this St. Patrick’s Day weekend after all, but the annual dumping of the dye won’t be accompanied by the usual cheering throngs crowding the banks if city officials have anything to say about it. Mayor Lori Lightfoot has sanctioned the famous river dyeing to proceed Saturday, but her administration won’t confirm when it will take place.
