St. John Baptist Church: 2457 Massachusetts St. — St. John Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor R.E. Robinson’s eighth anniversary with a “Gospel Explosion” event at 3 p.m. Feb. 25. The event will begin with a gospel concert featuring Voices of Love and will continue each Sunday through March 17 with guest preachers. On Sunday, March 10th, there will be a Jazz Brunch at 1 p.m. at the Chateau in Merrillville. Bishop Noll Institute: 1519 Hoffman St. — Bishop Noll Institute will have Lenten fish fry dinners from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 23, March 1, March 8, March 15 and March 22. Meals will include an entree, salad, bar, dessert and drink. Prices for seafood meals will start at $13 with options of perch, pollock, shrimp and mixed platter.
