St. John Baptist Church: 2457 Massachusetts St. — St. John Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor R.E. Robinson’s eighth anniversary with a “Gospel Explosion” event at 3 p.m. Feb. 25. The event will begin with a gospel concert featuring Voices of Love and will continue each Sunday through March 17 with guest preachers. On Sunday, March 10th, there will be a Jazz Brunch at 1 p.m. at the Chateau in Merrillville. Bishop Noll Institute: 1519 Hoffman St. — Bishop Noll Institute will have Lenten fish fry dinners from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 1, March 8, March 15 and March 22. Meals will include an entree, salad, bar, dessert and drink. Prices for seafood meals will start at $13 with options of perch, pollock, shrimp and mixed platter. Immanuel Lutheran Church: 1700 Monticello Park Dr. — Immanuel Lutheran Church will have a first Fridays fish fry from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 1. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children ages 9-12 and can be purchased from a Boy Scout or at the church office. Children 8 and under eat free. In addition to the first Fridays fish fry, Immanuel Lutheran Church will also have lenten meals every Wednesday from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. through March 20. Liberty Bible Church: 1155 S. Sturdy Rd. — Join Regional Performing Arts Company for a princess tea party fundraiser beginning at 2 p.m. Feb. 24. Tickets are $10 for the first child with an adult chaperone and $5 for each additional child in the party. The event will feature tea, lemonade, cookies, Nutella finger sandwiches, crafts and more.
