The city of Aurora is hosting a workshop meant to help senior citizens and their families and caregivers identify and avoid falling victim to scams, according to a press release from the city.
The free workshop will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the Prisco Community Center at 150 W. Illinois Ave. in Aurora, according to the release.
It’s being hosted by the city’s Information Technology Department, Senior and Disabilities Services Division and the Aurora Police Department, as well as the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, the release said. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser will be a guest speaker.
The event will include a presentation offering tips on recognizing and avoiding scams that threaten financial security, according to the news release from the city.
