Cook County commissioners ask for more say in how $1 billion in federal aid is spent after Preckwinkle introduces resolution giving her budget director more authority over the funds

A proposed resolution to temporarily hand Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle’s office more control of $1 billion in federal aid was sent to a committee Thursday for fine-tuning after commissioners raised fears of being cut out of how the stimulus funds would be spent.
