A Hammond man is facing decades in prison after he was charged Tuesday with molesting a preteen girl for three years, according to charging documents.
David Arredondo, 58, was charged with Level 1 Felony child molesting, two counts of Level 4 felony child molesting, and one count of Level 6 Felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
He is not in custody and is ordered held without bail.
The victim told police Arredondo abused her when she lived in his Hammond home from 2017 to 2020.
According to the charges, he repeatedly forced the child to touch him inappropriately, showed a pornographic video on his cell phone, and also asked the child to perform a sex act multiple times.
The child reported the abuse after hearing a relative and their friends talk about sexual abuse, the affidavit states.
