A Chicago police officer was shot while patrolling in Humboldt Park early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Two officers were on patrol on the 3800 block of West Augusta Boulevard at around 2:02 a.m. when people began shooting at a group of men walking down the street.
A bullet hit the window of their marked squad car. One officer was shot in his bulletproof vest, and the other was injured by the shattered glass. They did not return fire, according to police.
An 18-year-old man was later discovered with a gunshot wound and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
The officers were taken to an area hospital and are listed in good condition, police said.
No arrests have been made.
