Crown Point man charged with rape for assaulting woman while she was unconscious

A Crown Point man faces charges he sexually assaulted a woman while she was unconscious repeatedly over time and took pictures without her consent to upload online.

Christopher Fleming, 36, is charged with rape, a Level 3 felony, and distribution of an intimate image, a misdemeanor.

He posted a $4,500 cash bond Wednesday.

His next hearing is April 14 before Magistrate Kathleen Sullivan.

Crown Point Police Det. Sgt. Ryan Olson wrote he opened the case March 29.

The victim told investigators the abuse happened between 2020 and January 2024 as she was “subjected to Fleming’s sexual fetishisms,” the affidavit states.

At various times, she was “choked unconscious, items thrown at her, pushed into dressers and the floor, screaming and degrading,” records allege.

Police obtained screenshots, videos and texts where Fleming admitted he was a “terrible” person.

The victim provided police with eye drops containing tetrahydrozoline, which she believed he used to knock her out. Charging documents do not indicate if she was tested.
