Cookie fans lined up to visit a new Crumbl Cookies location in Niles on Friday. On its opening day, the store had a steady stream of customers thanks in part to a free chocolate chip cookie promotion that was active all day.
Bo and Anamey Thede own the store at 8419 W. Golf Rd, Niles, next to EggHolic and grocer Patel Brothers. Bo Thede said Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson and several other Chicago athletes are also investors in the cookie franchises he and Anamey have opened in the northern suburbs. Their other latest location is a Crumbl Cookies store in Skokie, and there are others in Schaumburg, Buffalo Grove, Gurnee and Arlington Heights.
“The support we have seen from the community is amazing,” said Bo. “People have been stopping in left and right waiting for the opening.”
Bo said the Niles location has 25 employees and plans to “be really ingrained into the community to build a family atmosphere.”
The Utah-based gourmet cookie store is known for its cookies served in pink boxes and changing weekly menus. The flavors are announced every Sunday at 6 p.m. MST. There are over 30 Crumbl Cookies stores in the Chicago area and 862 locations worldwide, per the company’s website.
The store’s hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
