Dog stolen from Wilmette home recovered, suspect arrested, per police

A dog stolen during a residential burglary in Wilmette has been recovered from a shelter in Chicago, Wilmette police announced. They have also arrested a suspect in the case.

On Oct. 17, police arrested Barbara S. Thomas, 33, at her residence in the1500 block of W. 78th Street, Chicago and accused her with charges of residential burglary and theft.

Officers also recovered property that was stolen from the Wilmette home.

The burglary occurred Oct. 10, and the dog was found on Oct. 15.

The suspect appeared for a detainment hearing Oct. 18 and a court date will be determined.

An arrest does not constitute a conviction.
