Driver critically injured after crashing into sedan and striking CTA bus shelter in Englewood neighborhood

A 22-year-old driver disregarded a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle before veering into a bus shelter overnight in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, a man was driving south in the 6100 bock of South Racine Ave in a Ford pickup when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a red sedan, police said.

The pickup truck then veered into a CTA bus shelter before coming to a stop. The driver was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

The Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating. .
