A motorist was killed Monday when their vehicle collided with a commuter train near Ingleside, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Information about the victim was not immediately available Monday.
The collision took place before 8 a.m. near the intersection of West Larkin and North Wilson roads, according to police. The sheriff’s office reported that Wilson Road was closed between Illinois Route 134 and Rollins Road in the wake of the crash.
The Metra commuter rail website said the train was inbound and scheduled to arrive in Chicago at around 9 a.m. The rail agency rerouted trains while Metra authorities investigated the accident.
