An elderly woman was battered and sexually assaulted Wednesday evening during a home invasion on the South Side in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 7 p.m., a male entered through a window of an address in Auburn Gresham and hit an elderly woman to the face, knocking her to the ground. The male then committed a sexual assault on the victim before fleeing the scene, police said.
No one was in custody for the attack and detectives were investigating.
