Elgin formally accepted a $1.27 million Supporting Municipalities for Asylum-Seekers grant from the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and the Illinois Department of Human Services. The money will be passed on to three partner agencies — Centro de Información, Food for Greater Elgin and Well Child Center.
