Elgin authors Raúl Castillo Ontiveros and India Powers are semifinalists in the eighth annual Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author Project Indie Book Competition. Ontiveros’ bilingual memoir, “Grandes Aventuras de un Pequeño Viajero,” and Powers’ fantasy historical romance novel, “Demon’s Bane,” are among 21 semifinalists.
