A large police presence on the 2000 block of Padua Drive in Elgin on Friday morning is a good example of why residents shouldn’t jump to conclusions, police Chief Ana Lalley said. There was no active shooter or barricaded subject despite rampant social media speculation. It was a domestic situation that was resolved peacefully.
