Castro holding coffee event for residents at Elgin McDonald’s

State Sen. Cristina Castro, D-Elgin, is holding a public coffee event to meet with residents from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the Bear Family McDonald’s, 1480 Larkin Ave. in Elgin.

The gathering is an open forum for community members to speak informally with Castro and others in attendance about issues facing the region and state, a news release said.

“The voice of community members shapes the work I do each day — in our district and in Springfield,” Castro said in the release. “I encourage anyone who wants to meet and chat about how we can work together to make our neighborhoods even stronger to stop by and join us.”

Coffee is being provided for free by the McDonald’s franchise.
