Annual town meeting for Elgin Township to be held Tuesday

Elgin Township will be holding its annual town meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Elgin Township Building, 729 S. McLean Blvd., Elgin.

Among the items to be discussed, according to the township’s website, will be the supervisor’s annual treasurer’s report, reports from elected officials, surplus property declaration and any topics brought up by residents.

Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. Only registered Elgin Township voters will be permitted to vote on township business.

Dundee Township Park District planning multiple egg hunts

The Dundee Township Park District will hold several of egg hunts the weekend of  April 11-13. They include:

  • A flashlight egg hunt for kids ages 9 to 14 will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Randall Oaks Park, 1180 N. Randall Road, West Dundee. Participants need to bring their own flashlights and bags to gather eggs. The event will conclude with s’mores served by a bonfire.
  • Six half-hour time periods are set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 12, for children ages 2 to 9 to hunt for eggs outside the Randall Oaks Recreation Center, 500 N. Randall Road, West Dundee. In the event of bad weather, the event will be moved indoors.
  • Four 15-minute time periods will be available from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Sunday, April 13, for children ages 1 to 12 to scoop for eggs in the indoor pool at the Rakow Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville.

‘Oddity Evening’ set for April 11 at Elgin Public Museum

Oddball Art Labs will present its second “Oddity Evening” from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd. in Lords Park.

The evening will feature the opening of Oddball Art Labs’ new art gallery exhibit, which will remain open through the summer, according to its website. The event also will feature Sobby the Clown, art vendors and special looks at some of Elgin Public Museum’s most peculiar artifacts and collection items.
