Emily Brenner – How To Manage Co-Parenting During Covid-19

Emily Brenner, JD, LPC, NCC of Brenner Law Group, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia is hosting a free event online, “How to Manage Co-Parenting During Covid-19” on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 from 3:00-4:00 PM EDT. Brenner is a divorce and family lawyer, a counseling psychologist and a rabbi. Brenner explained, “The CoVid19 pandemic has put unprecedented stress on divorced families. I am offering the Emergency Family Task Force to give parents a place to find information, ideas and resources for getting through this time successfully.” The purpose of the free webinar is to help parents learn how shelter-in-place orders square with their rights and obligations regarding parenting time with the non-custodial parent.

Brenner added, “Many parents are asking, ‘How do we co-parent during COVID19? How do we deal with the kids?’ and not getting a lot of answers from the media they can access from home about what they should do.” She said, “I saw a real need to answer questions for custodial and non-custodial parents about how this will effect their time with their children.”

Because most parents are under “stay-at-home” orders, Brenner decided to offer a webinar that parents could attend for free to get all their questions answered—not just about visitation rights during “stay at home” orders, but also concerning options parents may need to investigate regarding child support and spousal support payments, especially in the face of job loss. Brenner will also discuss options for parents dealing with a “toxic ex” and how they can come up with a plan to work co-operatively during stressful and challenging times.
