Chicago firefighters were on the scene chasing hot spots at a furniture warehouse where an extra alarm fire broke out overnight in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, officials said.
Firefighters and police responded shortly before 10:45 p.m. Wednesday to a warehouse in the 4200 block of South Ashland Avenue. Fire officials said a large amount of pallets were burning on the loading dock area, and the building contained furniture and more pallets.
Eventually, the extra-alarm fire was struck out, and no injuries were reported, officials said.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
