Former Cubs reliever Bill “Soup” Campbell died on Friday after a long battle with cancer, at age 74. He was part of Dallas Green’s Cubs rebuild and eventually was packaged in a trade helped the Cubs fit the final pieces of the NL East championship puzzle in 1984.
