Fourth of July celebrations in Park Ridge, Niles, Morton Grove and Skokie

The upcoming festivities are planned for 4th of July celebrations in the northern suburbs.

Park Ridge

The Park Ridge Park District is hosting a fireworks show at Maine East High School at 2601 Dempster Street, Park Ridge, on July 3. At 6:30 p.m., a DJ will host an interactive dance party. No alcoholic beverages or grills are allowed. Parking passes are $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents and can be bought online.

Niles

The village of Niles is hosting a Fourth of July parade starting at 8:45 a.m. at Notre Dame College Prep, 7655 W. Dempster St., Niles. The parade will travel from the high school to Grennan Heights Park, 8255 N. Oketo Ave., Niles. The parade will also honor the village’s 125th anniversary.

The Niles Park District will host a post-parade celebration at Grennan Heights from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring games, food, a raffle, entertainment, music and more.

Morton Grove

The village of Morton Grove will host Morton Grove Days from July 3 to July 6 at Harrer Park and Harrer Pool at 6250 Dempster St., Morton Grove. A parade will take place on July 4 at 2:30 p.m. and run westbound on Dempster Street, starting at Frontage Road near the Edens Expressway and ending at Ferris Avenue. Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. The four day celebration will have carnival rides, entertainment and attractions.

Skokie

Skokie’s Fourth of July parade will kick off at 12 p.m. near Oakton College at 7701 Lincoln Ave, Skokie, on July 4. The parade will head southeast on Lincoln Avenue before turning east on Howard Street, then go back up north on Kostner Avenue before ending near Oakton Park at 4701 Oakton St., Skokie. WGN Radio News Anchor Dave Schwan will be the parade’s Grand Marshal. Bruce Rottner and former Skokie Police Chief Brian Baker will act as first and second military Grand Marshals. Ilene Collins will be the parade’s MC. Anna Nicolasin, the winner of the 2024 Skokie Idol contest, will sing the national anthem.

The Skokie Park District will host a fireworks parade and festival from 6:30 to 9:45 p.m. at Niles West High School, 5701 W Oakton St., Skokie. The festival will start off with a ’70s funk band, then switch over to a ’90s band at 8 p.m. The fireworks show will start at 9:30 p.m.
