Fourth of July in Elmwood Park was billed as a “day of excitement,” with village celebrations that started with a parade and ended with fireworks.
Scores of people lined the route early July 4 as the annual parade stepped off from 78th and Fullerton avenues, rolled up 75th Avenue and down Diversey Avenue, over to Sunset Drive where it ended at Village Hall.
Later in the day, another village staple and community event was planned at Elmwood Park High School.
That celebration included a live performance by Starlight City band.
The band’s two-hour set was the lead up to the village’s fireworks show — which closed out the night.
