Free tickets are now being given away to attend tapings of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” when the show broadcasts from the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago during the Democratic National Convention on Aug. 19-22, as well as Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” when that show broadcasts from a venue still to be announced.
According to an announcement from Colbert’s show Tuesday, tickets can be requested to be in the Auditorium audience by visiting 1iota.com/show/1739/the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert-in-chicago.
“The Daily Show” free tickets can be requested at https://1iota.com/show/1737/the-daily-show-in-chicago.
Colbert first talked about his plans to come to Chicago for the week the convention is at the United Center during an April episode of “The Late Show.” This will be the first time Colbert has taken his show on the road, though the show has broadcast live during the political conventions in previous election years, first in 2016 and again during 2020. The four August episodes will be broadcast on CBS and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
“Get your tickets to see us at the Auditorium in the heart of Chicago,” Colbert said in the announcement. “But do not delay because I am so worried about Chicago’s heart. Have you seen their pizza?”
“The Daily Show” also announced its plans in April for on-the-road episodes it is calling “Indecision 2024.” That show is coming to both Chicago for the DNC and Milwaukee July 15-18 for on-location tapings during the Republican National Convention. Jon Stewart has re-joined the Comedy Central program as Monday host.
