A Gary man could face decades behind bars on charges he molested a preteen girl in the summer of 2021 and 2022.
Lonney Hansen, 61, was charged Monday with one count of Level 1 felony child molesting and one count of Level 4 felony child molesting.
Online court records appear to show he has not been apprehended and is ordered held without bond.
The victim’s relatives told Hammond Police they found a “rewards” and “punishment” list Hansen wrote for the child.
The relative was “disturbed,” and bought the child a diary where she wrote Hansen abused her but she was too scared to tell anyone.
About a year earlier, Hansen started molesting her, and the victim told police it happened eight times over two years.
Relatives also found Hansen’s notebook with “sexual” drawings that “strikingly resemble” the child, the affidavit states.
